Portrait: Wanda Judd

Wanda Judd is a fine art photographer, based in VA.

Wanda has studied photography with working photographer/instructors such as Alison Shaw , Tony Sweet, David Middleton, Bob Krist, Bryan Peterson, Brenda Tharp, Jay Maisel and Joyce Tenneson to name a few...each instructor has had an impact not only on learning the art of photography, the techniques of photographing but life lessons were gained as a result of such training...Wanda describes herself "as an ever evolving student of photography. " She specializes in abstract, architectural and outdoor photography. She started shooting with a manual Nikon camera using slide film...now she uses mostly digital but still maintains and uses some of her film cameras...

She takes to heart a famous Ansel Adams quote "A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed." I had an amazing experience with the lesson of light in a workshop taken with Alison Shaw...it was at that point I realized that for me photography was a spiritual experience...seeing God's warm light on a row of summer cottages was a turning point in my life. My goal is to photograph and see what has been laid out before us...things in nature or man made....

As you view her portfolio, you will see many oh her photos that have won awards and recognition...
